Our first meeting of the year will be January 28 at Grain to Glass at 7pm. We will once again be starting out the year with the RIS OFF! Bring your best Russian Imperial Stout. We will judging them together using the GABF / BJCP BOS format and pick the winner. It’s a $5 entry with winner taking home the cash. A full growler or at least 4 bottles are required for this competition. Along with the RIS OFF we will have an education presentation on brewing software. New brewers are always welcome to attend. Upcoming Meetings / SteinBrew / RIS OFF
Our November meeting is the THIRD THURSDAY, November 19th. We will be crowning our 2015 Iron Brewer and doing a demo on brewing software. Meeting is at Grain to Glass at 7pm
Sunday, November 22nd we will be doing a large group brew, Steinbrew. Steinbrew is an old technique where you heat up hot rocks to bring your wort to a boil. We are shooting for 80 Gallons. Details are listed on the member only Facebook page.
December meeting will again be the THIRD THURSDAY, December 19th, and will also be our Christmas party. The party will be at Big Rip Brewery at 6pm. Still working out the details but plan on bringing a food item to share and the club will be purchasing some beer. We will also once again do our White Elephant Bottle Gift exchange. Hope to see you there.
Last year we started off the year with the First Annual RIS OFF. We will be doing this again so get this big imperial stouts ready. You have 12 weeks from today to get one ready.
November Meeting / SteinBrew
Our November Meeting will be the THIRD THURSDAY, November 19th due to Thanksgiving. It will be a full agenda. We will be judging the Final Round of the Iron Brewer. Who will it be? Rodney or Rocky? Education topic will cover a demo of Beersmith and Brewersfriend and basic recipe formulation. Club Business will cover voting of the updated By-Laws and finalizing details of the SteinBrew. October Meeting Tomorrow
Tomorrow is our monthly meeting at Grain to Glass at 7pm. Educational Topic will be over Efficiency, “What is it?, How to calculate, What effects it and how to adjust” and Jennifer will be doing her presentation on how grain grist effects efficiency. September Meeting is tomorrow
Our September meeting is tomorrow at Grain to Glass at 7pm. We will be revealing the final ingredient for Iron Brewer and will will have a presentation on the BIAB (Brew in a bag) / No Sparge method. We will also be discussing club business. Anyone is welcome to attend.
